    Shipment Inspection Policy

    Please Read Carefully!

All orders leave our warehouse in excellent condition. Read below to learn how to protect your rights to a freight claim should your shipment arrive with missing packages or suffer damage in transit.

Every fireworks' shipment is accompanied by a Bill of Lading (BOL). This is the paperwork the truck driver will have you sign at the time of delivery.

    • Do not allow a driver to leave a shipment that you have not signed for. This will void any rights you may have to a freight claim if damage or shortage has occurred. None of the freight companies will pay a claim if the damage or missing boxes are not noted on the delviery papers. If you don't note and sign the papers, we simply cannot assist you.
    • Find the number of boxes that are listed on the BOL (delviery papers) and make sure you have them all. If you don’t, you must write the shortage on the BOL before you sign it. For example, write “Short 1 box.” Take extra care if your shipment is delivered on a pallet and the plastic wrap is broken. If the plastic wrap is broken, make sure to count the boxes to ensure you have them all. In the case of palletized orders, your papers may indicate 1 unit (pallet), but they will also list the number of boxes on the pallet.
    • Do not sign the Bill of Lading (BOL) until you have thoroughly inspected your shipment for damage! This means checking all sides of the outer boxes for dents, tears and crushes. (Don’t forget the bottom!)  This could mean the fireworks inside are damaged. You must note these damages on the BOL before you sign, or the freight company will not reimburse you for any loss. Be sure to take pictures of the outer damage before you open the box(es). Photos are a required part of the claim process.
    • We do not own the freight company; therefore, Captain Boom Fireworks is NOT responsible for damages or loss that occur during shipment. Any damages  or loss that are not documented on the signed BOL are NOT eligible for any credit or refund
    • All damage claims must include photographs for proof and be submitted to us within 48 hours of delivery. Take photos of the damage to the outer box(es) before you sign the BOL and allow the driver to leave. After receiving the packages, open them and take photos to document any damage to the fireworks inside. Cosmetic damage is not eligible for a claim. e.g. A torn label, etc. Note: If you submit a claim beyond 48 hours after delivery we may not be able to submit a claim for to the freight company for you.  Freight companies have strict timelines for us to submit claims. Once the alloted time limit has passed,  we simply cannot submit a claim for you.
    • Email the photos to us HERE. Include your order number and first and last name and a list of the damaged items in your photos.
    • You must notify Captain Boom Fireworks in writing of any discrepancies (overages/shortages) in the shipment within 48 hours of delivery. Rarely, an item may be missed in the packing process. First, check your packing slip to see if we have made a substitution. If not, please take a picture of everything you did receive, and email that to us along with a note of what is missing. We will check our documentation and video footage of the order being packed to determine what we missed. Note: If we determine our packers missed something, we do not reship one or two items. We reserve the right to rectify any shortage in the form of a store credit.
    • If no claims are made within 48 hours, you will not be issued any form of credit.

THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY!
