House Bill 5999 Passes House

5-12-10 - House Bill 5999 passed the Michigan House today. Captain Boom applauds the effort to legalize all federally legal consumer fireworks for Michigan. Unfortunately, the bill never had any amendments or floor debate, and has serious flaws. Display fireworks companies in Michigan were not consulted prior to submitting the bill for consideration. As a result, the language in the bill could eliminate municipal displays if not corrected in the Senate.
